Pigeon Perspective is a satirical reflection on urban life, rooted in my relocation to London and the experience of navigating the city as an observer. In this process of reorientation, I became attuned to the presence of pigeons—creatures so embedded in the urban fabric that they seemed to emerged as symbols of the city’s most interesting characters.
Positioning the pigeon as both metaphor and method, the work draws upon research into cognition and visual perception—specifically, their 360-degree field of view and sensitivity to movement. This physiological perspective is placed in dialogue with Charles Baudelaire’s notion of the flâneur, described as a detached, curious observer, thus mirroring both my own explorations of London and that of a pigeon.
